Boldly going where no game has gone before? It certainly seems to be that way. Perpetual Entertainment, a San Francisco based developer is busy working on what is shaping up to be the must play MMO of 2008.
Over the past few months they have slowly been letting fans in on what they have been working on for over a year now. They are about to launch the teaser site for Star Trek Online and have been talking fan sites about what's being happening.

The big difference with STO is that as soon as you go through initial training you will be given you own personal ship. You will be able to level this up and gain new abilities by upgrading just like you would with your main character.
This opens up huge possibilities for Star Trek Online. Perpetual have the abilities and license to create an unlimited amount of content for their new expanded Star Trek universe. They have plans to implement huge space battles and give the players the opportunity to explore and battle on many familiar planet surfaces.
